Richard Fink IV
(Voice Teacher, Vocal Producer, and Songwriter)
Richard Fink IV is the founder of the International Vocal Scholarship Program and creator of the Throga method for singers. Richard has also been instrumental in the recent development of both major and independent artists as a vocal coach, songwriter, and vocal producer.
With more than twenty years of hands-on experience in the music industry, Richard has had the opportunity to teach a wide range of students from aspiring young pop stars seen on shows like the X Factor and American Idol, to multi-platinum selling performers and Broadway stars in Jekyll & Hyde, Phantom of the Opera, and Beauty & The Beast. In addition to training singers, Richard has guided voice-over professionals employed by Disney and 20th Century Fox, as well as keynote speakers at Juilliard School, New York University, and the Actors Institute. Richard’s reputation and vocal expertise has also led to judging several international singing competitions and teaching master classes on "Vocal Development" and "Performance Anxieties".
Richard has co-written and produced hundreds of songs spanning Pop, Rock, Country, R&B, and Progressive genres with various artists and songwriters, including multi-platinum vocalist Russell Thompkins Jr. (Stylistics), multi-platinum songwriter James Porte (Luther Vandross / Michael Jackson), and up-and-coming artists signed to Sony/ATV, EMI, Warner Bros., and BugMusic Publishing. Richard also co-wrote and produced the soundtrack to “Dangerous Grounds”, from the Emmy nominated MobiJoke series, and won first place with co-writer/producer Johnny Cummings for the song "Ostani" in 2008 and "Predati" in 2010 at the international Suncane Skale competition, televised throughout Europe.
Richard's versatile and powerful five octave vocal range has made him an award winning vocalist for solo performances as Jesus (Jesus Christ Superstar) and Jean Val Jean (Les Miserables). His voice has also been featured on several hard-rock studio projects such as Scattered Ink and Speaking to Stones released on Lion Music, Finland. In 2009, Richard shattered the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous vocal note (previously 57sec) with an official time of 1 minute and 43 seconds.
